VAWG Listening Circle
In March we held a Listening Circle to facilitate conversations between West Yorkshire Police and community members. The listening circle involved using creative work as a way to disrupt hierarchy, and we had conversations about reporting VAWG, barriers to reporting, and Vanessa Rolfe and Emma Bell from West Yorkshire police shared safety initiatives and improvements with our Ambassadors. We’ll be hosting a follow up session on April 18th for Ambassadors to continue conversations and share their thoughts with WYP.

We had an amazing turnout and the event was a great opportunity for health professionals to listen to the concerns of culturally diverse women. This event was a great starting point for work that we’ll continue to be a part of around maternity care.

We had a great evening celebrating the Women Friendly Leeds movement with our supporters and partners. Thank you to everybody who has helped to shape our movement into what it is today. We saw performances from some fabulous women, and took a look at how far WFL has come, and where it’s going. Thank you to everyone who attended, and has supported us along the way!
