Women friendly Leeds blog

At our last team meeting with Leeds Women’s Aid, we asked the team to share their ideas on how Leeds could be a safer, friendlier place for women. We received a whole host of exciting, thoughtful suggestions for women-friendly initiatives, including free transport schemes, better education on gender and women friendly venues. We’ve compiled the list of ideas into one document below so we can share them far and wide across our city.

It was inspiring to hear from some of the city’s experts on gender-based violence talk about how they’d improve our city for women. But we know that all women are experts by experience on gender-based issues. In our work with Women Friendly Leeds, we work hard to listen to and share the voices of as vast a range of women as possible on the issues that affect us all. If you have ideas on how to make our city friendlier for women, we would love to hear from you. You can join our discussions by becoming an Ambassador to our movement here.

Click here to take a look at all these exciting ideas.
