Women friendly Leeds blog

This event that Women’s Lives Leeds are kindly hosting, will explore the need for Intersectional Therapy.

The panel discussion will explore the importance of understanding intersectionality for ourselves personally but also the urgent need for intersectional therapy. Using an intersectional lens is central to affirmative practice and can enable both in-depth exploration of the client’s issues and a sense of identity within the world leading to a greater understanding, empathy, and intersubjective connection.

Speakers include:

Delvina has recently taken on the post as the Mental Health Ethnic Inequalities Lead (Adults) within the Leeds City Council Public Health Team.  Delvina have worked in Further and secondary education, as well as within a custodial setting for children in London and in Leeds. Delvina is a change agent working with young people to influence their experiences into adulthood. Delvina is passionate about improving mental health, and having a understanding of how psychology, trauma and childhood have an impact on women, and how they respond to their inner critic.
